LazyPaw Goes Green

In an effort to do our part in reducing our carbon paw print, LazyPaw Animal Hospitals was designed to maximize the use of energy efficient heating and cooling in the offices. The clinic also installed programmable thermostats, compact fluorescent light bulbs and complies with the Stage Three water restrictions. Washable cloths and towels are used the in the restrooms and for clean-up in the animal hospital to reduce the use of disposable towels. The clinic also uses electronic records to diminish paper records whenever possible. In addition, the animal hospital recycles paper, glass, plastic and aluminum cans and uses refillable bottles for drinking water. We use washable plates and silverware to reduce plastic utensil usage. Boxes are reused and we shred our paper to use as packing material. All ink cartridges and batteries are also recycled. We allow our clients to opt out of a printed receipt and instead have their itemized invoice sent directly to their email account for their review. We also offer email or phone call reminders exclusively, eliminating traditional post card reminders for their pets instead to save on paper products. The office has added green plants to freshen both the body and the mind while reducing CO2 and enhancing air cleansing naturally. To reduce trips to the clinics, we offer wellness house calls to multiple animal households. Our doctors and technicians stay current with online courses and save fuel costs by telecommuting.
