The Thyroid Gland Regulates Metabolism. The thyroid gland routinely malfunctions in our pets. The general rule is that Dogs have a decreased metabolism while Cats have an increase. This makes the dog fat and lazy while the cat becomes skinny, angry and generally hyperactive. Both conditions are easily tested for by an in-clinic blood test. Your vet will design a treatment plan based on the data and overall clinical picture. |
